The Primary Healthcare System Enhancing Project (PHSEP), under the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, successfully handed over 10 double cab vehicles to nine Regional Directorates of Health Services (RDHS) and the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), Kalutara, to strengthen field-level health service delivery and improve operational efficiency.
The vehicles were officially handed over at a ceremony attended by Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa; Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Anil Jasinghe; Project Director of the Primary Healthcare System Enhancing Project, Dr. (Eng.) Lalith Liyanage; and Regional Directors of Health Services representing the beneficiary institutions.
The provision of these vehicles is expected to enhance the mobility and operational capacity of regional health authorities, enabling more effective supervision, monitoring, community outreach, and implementation of primary healthcare activities across the country. This initiative reflects PHSEP’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s primary healthcare system and ensuring improved access to quality health services for all communities.
