Strengthening Public Health Capacity: PHSEP Hands Over 358 Desktop Computers to Epidemiology Department

The Primary Healthcare System Enhancing Project (PHSEP) has taken another significant step in advancing Sri Lanka’s health sector by handing over 358 brand-new desktop computers to the Epidemiology Department of the Ministry of Health.

These computers will be deployed across Ministry of Health offices, enhancing data management, disease surveillance, and overall efficiency in public health operations. By strengthening digital infrastructure, PHSEP continues to support the modernization of healthcare systems and empower frontline staff the tools they need to serve communities more effectively.

At a ceremonial event, Dr. (Eng.) Lalith Liyanage, Project Director of PHSEP, officially handed over a desktop computer to Dr. Palitha Karunapema, Director of the Epidemiology Department, symbolizing the commitment to building a stronger, digitally enabled health system.

This initiative reflects PHSEP’s dedication to improving healthcare delivery through technology, ensuring that Sri Lanka’s public health services remain resilient, responsive, and future-ready.
